TRI attends the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance (TSA) Annual Board Meeting in Washington DC….

Janet Verney, TRI’s Director of Operations attended the TSA Annual Board Meeting March 23 – 25. The first day was spent in discussion with parents of children affected by TSC, hearing their individual stories and learning about the various activities they host to advocate, educate, and raise funds for TSC. Day two was spent on Capitol Hill observing TSC parents advocating for increased government funding for TSC. That evening was spent at the French Embassy at a presentation of the TS Alliance Champion Award to Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro. Day three included discussions on TSA Grants; results of the Dermatology Committee; the development of a Scientific Advisory Board that would consist of experts from other related Institutes and foundations; the creation of a Research Plan that will serve as an internal roadmap and provide direction to other TSC researchers; and progress on the continued development of a clinical database.
