TS Alliance Walk-A-Thon

On Saturday, May 13th 2006 - The Rothberg Institute hosted a Step Forward walk to raise money for the TS Alliance. Starting on the Marina across the street from the Institute, the 5K walk went to the town green, around the town center and returned to the Institute where everyone enjoyed a free picnic, music, door prizes and children's games.

In a small miracle of meteorology, Mother Nature provided a tiny flashlight of sun and a clear blue sky for just Guilford amid more than a week of rain locally, with flooding throughout New England. We expected a washout - instead we had bountiful sunhine.

In all we had over 150 brave volunteer walkers who defied the odds for tunderstorms. Together, we raised more than $52,000 with some donations still coming in. Not only did we raise critical funding to help families with TS, but also heightened community awareness of both the Institute and TSC. Our now annual event brings together many families with TSC & proves that this may be an orphan disease, but it has a face and a name as well. For additional donations, please see our website at justgiving.com
